February was another busy month here at C7 and we wanted to recap on all of our news and releases incase you missed out on anything! So, why not settle in and read on...?

Soulbound Bestiary - 150 creatures !

We revealed the cover for the upcoming Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Bestiary! The Mortal Realms are filled with countless terrifying creatures and monstrous beasts. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Soulbound Bestiary contains over 150 creatures to use in your Soulbound campaign. This book features some of the most iconic foes from Warhammer Age of Sigmar, from the reality-warping Tzeentchian Lord of Change, to the merciless Knight of Shrouds, to the awe-inspiring Krake-eater Mega-Gargant. The Soulbound Bestiary is an invaluable tool for any Soulbound Gamemaster and a wealth of lore for fans of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Soulbound: Steam and Steel – Weapons, Armour and Machines of war!

We also revealed the cover for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Steam and Steel! Steam and Steel presents everything you need to begin crafting your own weapons, armour, and machines of war. This book contains new aetheric equipment for the Kharadron, new Fyreslayer runes, new weapons and crafting rules, alchemy and potion making, and rules for vehicular combat along with dozens of example ships and war machines. Not only that, but Steam and Steel explores what crafting means to cultures across the Mortal Realms — for some it is simply a job, for others it reflects a lifelong devotion to their deity.

Steam and Steel is perfect for players looking to create their own equipment, and for GMs who are looking to bring ship-to-ship combat and large-scale vehicular destruction to their game!

WFRP Folk and Folklore of the North: Part 5

In early February we released part 5 of WFRP developer Dave Allen's Folk and Folklore series.

Middenheim’s High Society

‘The Middenheim Garden party! As state occasions go, it is small, but don’t doubt its significance. I remember attending in 2508, a happier year for the Graf. And what an occasion — the young “Princess” Katarina was presented to society. A delegation of Middenheim’s Dwarfs presented her with a glorious necklace that they claimed was magically charmed to protect her. Of course, the event was almost marred by a dreadful oversight of the visiting Lector Aglim. He sipped his Riesling before Ar-Ulric had finished a traditional toast to the lessons learned at the teeth of Horros. A forgivable mistake you say? Well that may be, but just such a forgivable mistake is said to have played a part in the onset of the Age of Wars, don’t you know.’

–Astrid Neidenpfefen, Wissenlander Lady of Letters

Courtiers used to Altdorf’s and Nuln’s glittering palaces may gossip that the only thing particularly ‘high’ about Middenheim’s high society is the fact that they are perched on top of a steep mountain — but the Grand Carnival gives the Graf the perfect opportunity to make an ostentatious display of his majesty and largesse. C7 Production Update

In early February we shared our monthly production update so you could see where things are in the pipeline. One important thing to note is that there may be a change to some previous mentioned street dates. Due to the ongoing global health crisis, our print partners have advised us that shipping may take between 2 to 4 weeks longer than it would normally.

We are working with our partners to try to get books to you and in stores as soon as we can, but unfortunately some things are simply out of our control. For those of you in the UK, you may be experiencing further delays due to the shipping backlog caused by Brexit. Read it here and stay tuned for our March Production Update coming next week!

WFRP: Latest News from Ubersreik!

We shared another excellent blog post from WFRP Developer Dave Allen.

To linger under the light of the full moon is said to invite madness and mutation. The presence of the sickly-green full moon and the mystical powers it invokes has long served as a fascination to all folk across the Empire from the simpleminded to the cynical sceptics. Though most differ on many opinions, as Geheimnisnacht approaches all but the wild, insane and sinister, run for shelter, bolting their doors against the eerie light. The months of Vorgeheim and Vorhexen are tense times for the Empire’s people. Folk fear to be called from their homes under the waxing moon, they pray to the gods to see them safe through the dark and dismal nights when Morrslieb shines brightest. But in the dark places of the world Beastmen, Cultists of the Ruinous Powers, and other sinister creatures are said to gather and celebrate. Continue reading here.

WFRP: Altdorf, A City in Flux

We wish to make it plain to visitors that whilst the creature known as the Drakwald Gibberbeast may bear superficial resemblance to the breed of Chaotic monstrosities known as Jabberslythes it is, in fact, of an entirely divergent taxonomic grouping, as several experts from the University’s Faculty of Bestiaria have confirmed. [Please note: Jabberslythes have a single mouth, whereas the Gibberbeast has between six and fourteen, depending on its mood. Jabberslythe wings are mostly vestigial, whereas the wings of the Gibberbeast are almost totally vestigial.] So, it is not a Jabberslythe, and anyone experiencing a catastrophic disassociation of mind whilst viewing the creature is doing so for reasons outside the purview of menagerie staff.’

WFRP – A Rich Vein. By Ralph Horsley

Last week, we shared a blog post from the incredibly talented Ralph Horsley.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay runs through my life. It kickstarted my career and has been my most extensively played RPG in adulthood, and now I have had the great pleasure to work on the latest book covers with Cubicle 7.

I began by creating black and white interior illustrations for the First Edition books, DoomstonesApocrypha Now, and Marienburg: Sold Down the River. The latter also came with a big challenge. I was commissioned to create the pull-out poster map of the city of Marienburg. This involved painting innumerable tiny half-timbered buildings, canals, and boats. My painstaking efforts were rewarded, however, and I was promoted to working on covers. I managed to squeeze a couple in, the Realms of Sorcery and Dwarfs: Stone & Steel, before the Second Edition came and Games Workshop began working on the RPG from their studio.
